Staying Positive!

 Positivity!

Truly what a powerful word!

There are various times in life that it is the hardest to muster and bring to the forefront. Constantly badgered by criticism, cynicism and negativity, through the journey of life . This one word does immense magic.

How easily we hug the negativity ?. keep replaying it in our minds .

But instead if we consciously expel that and just think of the positivity in and around us. We will all be much happier beings.

There are very few in today’s world who will genuinely appreciate you or love you for what you are. The others will always be quick to point out your numerous faults.

Just sit for a moment and think. Where are they coming from? Are they perfect? Flawless! Devoid of any faults.

Unfortunately or fortunately for you, they are not.

Then why should we bother about their opinion of us. It truly doesn’t matter.

Start counting your blessings. All the positive things. How you can think about doing something better?

If you start giving in to them, they will always have more power over you.

Never give your power so easily.

You are a strong being. Differently made! Unique!

Then how will another know you so well, to judge you?

It’s their perception of you. Which necessarily does not have to be right.

So enjoy your being!

Positivity the mantra of life!

Memories with Grandma

The lovely moments spent with my grandma . The pampering I received from her .

I still remember her favourite de-tan remedies. Her appalled  look when I came back tanned from my matches Weary and tired, I would come back and collapse .

She would come with her remedies. Dearly  putting my head in her lap and massaging all the remedies surreptitiously into my skin.

She would say” Isse Tan jaata”!

And then one after the other , over the years , I would be treated to so many.

Today seeing my skin, I owe it all to my grandma.

For years my face wash ,was gram flour( besan), neem, orange peels dried and powdered.

Sitting majestically in my washroom counter.

My hair oil was made with Almond oil, olive oil and coconut oil with curry leaves and methi seeds.

So many things .

In winter she would just put cream( malai) on my face .

Naturally hydrating my skin . It would feel heavenly after that .

She was a pro in using all the natural ingredients right from the kitchen .

Summer time ! She would make all the seasonal juices. Specially her false juice .Saying “ Nourishment from within is also equally important for the skin”!

Which is so true.

I follow her best skin remedy which nourishes the skin

“ A cucumber a day”!

Keeps your skin radiant and glowing.

She would end it saying “ Keep smiling”!

Keep stress at bay.

Life is short , so do what your heart wants you to do always”!

Listen to the dictates of your heart ❤️

A vivacious persona, she carried at all times .

Reminded by my dear aunt about her home made Kajal with castor oil. Every morning lining her almond shaped eyes. She would so  sweetly give it to all the Kajal lovers .

“ Miss her warmth!

Miss her remedies.

Simplicity

When I was growing up, simplicity ruled our lives. We found our joys in everyday simplicity. Enjoying our walks out in the open. Playing joyously. Carefree and spirited.

Meeting our cousins. Spending quality time . Enjoying the corn when it would be pouring . Getting drenched then having Dinshaw ice-cream.

To meet our loved ones would be the highlight . Weddings and functions were a highlight . We would be getting a lot of time together .

Every season has its treats . The specialities of the city ruled it. We never thought of materialistic things . Just what planted a smile on our hearts, beings and souls.

Where did those golden days disappear? Vanished without a trace.

Now I sit lost in the concrete jungle , absolutely lost!

Morning Motivation

Some mornings its  such a challenge to find something positive in the day. Consciously I have made it a habit to look deeply into the day .

Surprisingly I found more than one thing to look forward to .

I came across a lovely insight, if through your the year we looked , we would have more than 365 things to be joyful about . That is consciously realised.

Subconsciously there might be so many more.

It made me really look forward to little joys and positivity induced acts.

It really calms me to think we have so much already to be grateful for, gratitude practiced every moment.

Such a beautiful way to practice gratitude πŸ™.

Count our little blessings and spread the joy 😊

Classically Classy

I thought of this when I came across a write up on designer, branded wear . Labels , signature styles so forth and so on.

What is being classy?

Is it just being draped and adorned in those labels is termed classy?

Classy should run deep into your soul, in your heart in every feeling.

Helping someone in need quietly.

By doing a kind deed .

Adorn your self in unseen labels of compassion, humility and kindness.

When you are seen by the world , let them see you in the label of kindness worn exclusively by you.

Let your being be stitched in designer threads of compassion made exclusively by you.

Your own signature label.

Let the world see you adorned in the best threads sewn by humility, intertwined and interwoven by soulful diction.

A beautiful signature being remembered for long in the humanitarian world.

Classy in my soul,

I long to be remembered,

Classically soulful,

In all my being!

A rain soaked morning

Woke up to a beautiful Sunday rain soaked morning.

The gentle sounds of nature and the cloudy smile woke me up with a smile of my own.

Today is a totally no agenda day.

Soaking up to the gentle rain soaked morning and enjoying the lovely wet moments .

The steady beat of rain on my window pane, an inspiration for me to write something spontaneous and heartfelt.

Rarely did I ever sit and enjoy a morning like this, today I took the opportunity and to just watch nature.

So calming and peaceful.

Making me realise to just take a break and let the day unfold .

Take the day in its stride.

Good Morning beautiful souls .

Enjoy the day!

Important

 https://www.instagram.com/p/CRIlXKZFa8p/?utm_medium=copy_link

My English, Urdu spoken word . “ Aham” meaning important.

Importance of being important

Never knew I

Did I feel I was important?

Ever to thee

Wondered I

Then my being whispered

Important you are,

To us

Us ?

Asked I?

Your body,

Soul,

Spirit,

Heart

All long for thee!

I realised the importance of truly being important to myself. Once I discovered that magical feeling, I always felt the magic deep within me.

Then why do I seek for outside validation at all?

Now it’s just my being which is my “ Be All and End All”!

Do what makes you happy!

What gives you immense joy to walk this planet?

What makes your soul sing, truly sing!

Once you find all these answers, you will truly be a different being .

Beautiful in the knowledge of being enough .

Have a lovely day beautiful souls.

The weather at my end is truly breathtaking and beautiful.

A bit stormy , a bit cloudy ,

It stands in attendance 😊😊

Shades of love

This one word can work wonders or destroy someone completely .

It can take you to heights of Euphoria or leave you completely in despair.

It sneaks up on you or sneaks out .

Yet if understood fully, it encompasses a beautiful universe within its four lettered boundary.

The need for the purity and honesty of this emotion somehow lost in today’s world.

In the journey of life, needed the most.

Where can compassion come if humility sustain if it’s not accompanied by love.

Love cannot be blamed, if it’s being misused by mankind.

It’s still pure and wholesome.

Keep it beautiful devoid of deceit and then see how magically it works .

How beautiful your journey transforms and starts unfolding .

I always believe the emotion is not to be blamed, it’s the circumstances related to it.

Each’s experience and expectations vary in life.

When those are not matched, then the bitterness creeps in.

We are so lost in our worlds, we do not want to make those little adjustments at times.

Judgments, comparisons spoil it further.

Yet love somehow manages to conquer all.

Love and it’s shades. It’s sometimes the unseen and unspoken which tends to be the most honest.

Shown in different and unique ways.

Simple questions,

Are you feeling okay? When you are in throes of despair.

When your voice can make the other person ask.

When something small also is taken up for you.

When you can voice your most inner fears.

When you are in trouble, anxious, the first person that comes to your mind.

The 3 am person you can vent it out to.

Love comes in many

Cherish and rejoice in it.

When you find it, keep it close.

Finding your moments of peace!

Vacations have become a challenge for many.

Then how do you create your own little special moments. Moments of getaway.

Create it.

Weave your magical moments.

A quiet morning is as meditative as the best pranayama.

Deep in thoughts, restive and assuring.

My favourite time of the day, of course without  my gud ole cup of cappuccino, it’s truly incomplete.

My inspiration for my poetic thoughts, all come usually at this beautiful, peaceful hour.

Lost in the world of phrases and words, I sit wrapped deeply in their warm embrace.

Go for a long drive.

Disconnect with everything for sometime, including your phone.

Pick up your coffee and watch the sunset.

Enjoy the Dusk.

The quiet, the calm, it’s invigorating.

Setting some time for yourself is very important.

Read a book.

Do something special for yourself.

Finding a wood in the cabins might not be so easy.

In the easy find your joy.

Be out on your own and see the magic.

I usually set out for a long drive by myself, doing my chores and yet giving myself a break as well.

It works magically on my mood.

Have fun in what you are doing πŸ˜€πŸ˜€.

My most loved things!

The first moments when you wake up, and realise you can sleep for some more timeπŸ˜€.

Sometimes my energy levels are in a crazy mood, so they take me to the park for a long walk.

At times I’m found on my yoga mat.

A beautiful cloudy morning on the weekend. When you have nothing planned. Suddenly your friends plan a drive and coffee meet.

When I indulge in retail therapy πŸ˜€πŸ˜€. Getting my favourites.

Some evenings sitting quietly by the window and hearing the sounds of nature. In all its glory and magnificence!

The quiet drizzle of the rain on my window pane.

An impulsive spa day πŸ˜€.

My favourite is my morning solitude with my steaming cup of cappuccino☕️.

When I taste my favourite dessert or my chocolate, after a  long time.

The first taste . I just love πŸ’• the feeling.

Sudden coffee dates with my besties or dinners.

A late night drive with my favourite soothing numbers playing.

And the best is an out of town  getaway with them.

Fun with my cousins when they visit me.

Our sudden little fun trips!

It’s  absolute bliss 😊😊

I sound pretty simple right πŸ˜‰.

Have a lovely day beautiful souls out there.

Love each moment, cherish it.

My favourite line” Nothing is promised to us, All we have is now”

Cyra’s coffee thoughts

Cyra grew tired . Day in and day out. She was falling into a rut. She wanted to do something with her life. Her life did not revolve only in being domesticated . She was growing into a bitter frustration.

One morning she just left everything and took herself for coffee. She wanted to get away from the usual.

She impulsively joined a book reading group. Enjoyed herself thoroughly. They planned to do a poem reading session too.

She sat with her thoughts and coffee thinking of what she had envisaged of life.

Was she just getting into a rut. Had she forgotten herself?

Only taking care of others.

She realised finally . She had to think of where wanted too.

Mostly after a time we put ourselves into a timetable. From morning to night all planned. Spontaneity takes a backseat .

If you want to honour yourself . Learn to take out time for yourself.

Meet your friends over coffee or meals. Plan a fun shopping trip. Indulge in a hobby . You are more . You are just not a wife or a mother .

Your are “ You”!

What are you doing for the” You”.

We are so conditioned to put our priorities before us.

Are you a “ Priority”!

Have you put yourself on the top.

Sadly most of the time it will be a no.

Sometimes you just need to be out. Take yourself for a drive. Treat yourself to your favourite thing. But something you have been longing to. Feel good!

Dress up . Feel good factor goes a long way in keeping you happy. You need time away from the family too. Do not feel guilty about it.

You owe yourself that.

Cyra found hers. She was a much happier person after she realised it. She made excellent like minded friends. Once a week she dropped everything and gave time to herself.

Are you ready to do that 😊

Simone’s spa day turns disastrous!

Simone had planned her spa day since weeks with her besties. Unfortunately on the day of the spa, they both could not make it. Unforeseen crisis!

Simone did not feel like going on her own, so she decided to stay home . She suddenly hit upon a brilliant idea. She planned her own home spa. Quickly excitedly she dropped the children to her mom’s place.

Rushed to the store and bought all the things required for her home spa. She got impulsive and bought some scented candles as well.

Excitedly she came home and started getting ready.she had just lit her candles. Arranged all her things. Just then she felt a gush of water near her feet. She thought the tub had filled and was overflowing.

Her expression turned to horror . Her bathroom was flooding from all sides . She quickly turned the tub tap off. Called the maintenance person.

Her water pipe had burst flooding the whole place!

So much for her home spa πŸ§–‍♂️.

For the next couple of hours, she was drying the carpets. Drying the water out . Finally in the end , she fell into a deep sleep. Her candles burnt out and turned to liquid wax. All her spa essentials neatly laid out without being used.

Dreaming of her spa!

In the end !

It truly was a dream! Which didn’t get fulfilled!

Memories With my Dad

Each year the memories come back stronger. All the beautiful years and moments spent in your company.
I hold it dearly in the album of my life!

When I turn the pages ,
Each comes back,
More stronger!
Than Ever!
Distances!
Time!
So much!
That separates us!
Dear Dad!
But your presence!
Is always felt!
Strongly!
Every living Moment!

Today when I see where I have come to.My passion of writing and reading all inculcated by you.
Every night you read bed time stories to me. Still remember the twinkle in your eye! The laughter! The patience with which you read to me!
I miss so many of those moments!
Sometimes I long to sit and read out my poems to you.
Wonder what you would have thought of them!
But I know deep down you must be reading them from up there!
I always hold the values dearly which you instilled in us.
Held like a legacy by each one of us.
Till we meet again.

Missing out on joyous moments!

 So true!

Joy just comes. If we don’t hold it and enjoy it, it can be just as flighty and fleeting.

When joy knocks! Welcome it.

Firstly we have to come out of our to do list OCD.

We are so compelled and captured by our routines, we forget to enjoy life.

Just keep going through it like a boring routine.

Each day there is always something to look forward to and be grateful for.

When we truly appreciate the moment and value it, that’s when we live it.

Life is divided into moments of joy and sadness.

How much we divide it with joyous moments is truly what keeps us marching ahead.

Laughing keeps the tears and years off !

Poetry and it’s effect on emotions!

 https://youtu.be/zkEQhrdzIcI

It was a very enriching experience speaking of poetry and it’s effect on emotions. I never paid much attention to this when I penned my poems.I would just go by my moods and the flow of it.

When I consciously say down and thought of it, it actually plays a very important role.

The other day I was attend cartoon picture Prompt. As I started writing, so many of my childhood memories came surfing up. Long forgotten!

So many which I had never remembered for so many years. Effortlessly pulled out from the treasure chest of memories.

It was so nostalgic to visit them. Along with that Came some more.

Poetry does a play a very vital role!

I have discussed it in the episode above and pasted the link too.

Have a lovely day ahead 😊

Coffee Tales

It was a beautiful cloudy morning. I woke up feeling lazy. Still contemplating my breakfast. Pulling myself together to do something. Just then my friend sent this picture of a coffee shoot. It instantly brought poetry and a smile to my being. The flow of words started flowing of their own accord. Coffee does this to meπŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€.

Totally irresistible!

I have a fetish for coffee and it has to be served in pretty mugs!πŸ™ˆ Sounds like a tall order!

But in fact, I like my coffee in pretty tall mugs.

There’s something about sitting in a garden looking out at the blooms , blossoms and sipping your ☕️ coffee.

Lost in the freshness of the morning munching on fresh baked cookies and dainty sandwiches.

πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€ I already feel invigorated!

Rejuvenated in thoughts!

Have a lovely day ahead!

Keep smiling in cofficious fervour!

Stay blessed. Stay safe beautiful souls out there😊😊

Cinnamon Tales!

Granny Brown was the sweet little granny we all always envisaged. She lived in a cute little cottage with red gabled roof. A garden of fragrance and warmth greeted us. She was proud of her little garden, taken care by her exclusively.

She lived down the road . It was called the bakers paradise by us. We were always welcomed with warm arms and warmer aromas wafting from her kitchen.

There was never a visit of ours, when we were not fed with her baked delicacies. We were greeted with cool ginger ale on a hit summer afternoon and yummy treats. She kept us entertained in her cool drawing room with stories of what had been in her youth.

She was our favourite!

After years today I still think of her fondly and miss her immensely.

Easter and Christmas was always special with granny Brown. We were greeted with cute little gifts, her love , warmth and our favourite cup cakes.

She would make us special chocolates too.

How I miss those days when we sat with her and enjoyed our carefree moments!

Today I just remember all that and smile for what I have experienced!

Glad to have been gifted those beautiful memories!

June Tidings!

A new month makes you feel anew. It’s a different kind of a feeling where you wonder about the months that have passed and the ones that are going to come.

What have we achieved so far and what do we plan?

Sometimes I feel, do we really need to plan?

In the age of uncertainty, I believe more strongly in “ Live in the Moment”!

This is all you truly have and are truly bestowed!

Nothing other than that is truly yours.

Make the most of it.

Live it to the fullest!

Make each moment count!

Have a blessed month ahead!

Blissful Petalled Paradise!

Roses have always been my favourite. There’s something about their fragrant hues and colourful warmth which brings a smile unchecked.

I remember back then when I was in school, how I would love planting them in our garden. Taking special care. I learnt from my grand mother how to graft it with different cuttings and bring an exotic shade of Rose!

There’s something so strong and regal about this beautiful flower.

It always gives a feeling of holding immense strength, resilience yet being soft and dewy!

It just adds so much brightness and colour wherever it goes. Always leaving everyone with smiles!

These Roses have been pictured in a friend’s garden in Kashmir!

Truly “ Kashmir ki kali”!

Blessing in Disguise!

We were all getting upset with the new lockdown timings. But being humans we are always ready for change.

Adapting to new things in a jiffy. Finding our own little ways of keeping us happy.

Breakfasts are the new meal of the day to meet your loved ones. Early to rise and enjoy a hearty meal together.

It becomes especially wonderful when you are surprised by your favourites.

I was treated to home baked quiche with spinach and cheese .u favourite desserts . A little early in the day but I can never say noπŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†.

A beautiful morning started with my favourites and loved ones.

There’s always a silver lining .

You just have to look closely.

Have a beautiful Sunday blessed souls!

Keep smiling!

Stay safe!

Whispers in the wind!

This morning I came across a poem prompt “ Shhhh”!

I just thought of whispers in the wind , imagine actually whispering and taking you on a beautiful journey with them.

Taking you away from reality for sometime. Sometimes we just like to travel the world in our imagination.

Away from woes and trouble . Just enjoy the journey for sometime. Till we are brought back to reality.

Travelling with the wind to all your favourite places and sweetly being brought back.

Today’s it’s my poetic imagination taking me for a ride.

Journey of Life!

Zaina was a very happy go lucky person . She always laughed, made people laugh around her. She never let the woes of life weigh her down!

She believed in spreading positivity and optimism around. Mother of 2, it was never easy for her. All the time in a rush. Yet she took out time for her besties, her childhood cousins and her other social obligations.

She worked as a counsellor, so it was not easy for her. She lightened herself, ventilated by going for a walk out in the open amidst nature. Her yoga gave her the much needed balance.

All was going fine until one morning she felt herself growing tired and weary. It was unlike for her. She rested a bit but woke up with a tightness in the chest.. she dreaded it. Hoping it was not “ covid” the dreaded.

Unfortunately by evening after her scan she did come to know it was. The first one week she managed staying at home and monitoring it and doing fine. Suddenly after a week. It hit her like a storm.

Her saturation fell, she went into ER. By evening she was admitted. 2 days she did fine in the hospital. But suddenly after 48 hours she grew serious . Only 48 hours given by the doctor. It was not the fear of death that actually woke her up from slumber .

All her unrealised dreams, aspirations, hopes which stared at her and mocked her. Asking” What did you think? That you have forever?

How fleetingly her life had gone by? What about her wish list, her bucket list, still written in her diary. Not one realised.

The beauty of life and breath all understood by her .He was kind up there. Smiled and said “ Lass I’m giving you one more chance to live life! Do your Best! Don’t disappoint me”!

That’s what made her fight back!

Do you think now she will live?

Satisfaction

All different instances and experiences lead to some new thoughts.

Always enlightening and inspiring!

Each gives us a new lesson to learn or imbibe!

Multi Tasking

 Sometimes I’m the,

Undisputed queen,

At times,

Guest of honour,

And most of the times,

Maid of honour,

Running around,

With the broom,

In one hand,

The ladle in another,

I’m adding Lizol,

To the bucket,

And spices in,

The cooker,

Sometimes I leave,

My cooker on sim,

And run around,

With my duster,

Until a faint,

Burning aroma rants,

The air,

Making me realise,

What is burning!

I hear a faint,

Yell from the,

Kids bedroom!

The battle is on!

Then I hear my,

Vimla bai reminding!

“ Amma this is over”!

I rush with my car keys!

Out and about!

I long for,

Some me time,

At night when,

There is silence,

All around,

I sit down,

For my own sweet time!

Instantly being reminded!

The test papers,

Of my students,

Still lying in a pile,

The chores never ending,

As long as the River Nile!!!

I long for my carefree days,

The spa licious,

Chocolate filled moments,

The joys,

Laughter!

All a distant memory!

Now the music to,

My ears is,

Cooker whistles,

The shouts and screams,

Of my offspring!

The gentle voice of,

Vimla bai,

Who keeps my,

Sanity in check!!

Picnics with Family!

As I was writing for my poem prompt, I came across this picture. Instantly bringing back so many memories.

The days when we would be out in the open . Looking forward to picnics with all my aunts, uncles and cousins!

Whole night we would not sleep out of excitement. Planning all the games , our snacks and what we would do.

I remember the bus ride. Singing and cracking jokes , enjoying the ride.

Once there we would immediately start our walk . Then get into the mood of games. Everyone together would be playing in different groups.

On the day of the picnic, we would be so hungry . Everything would be polished away in sometime.

We would enjoy the seasonal fruits. Guava , poly mangoes( kairi) with the masala.

Aam ras , pickles, all the home made specialities.

Listening to stories from our grandparents times. Some so funny which would leave us rolling .

All our favourites were carried lovingly by our elders.

What a lovely time we would have!

The day would pass beautifully under the shade of trees.

Before dusk we would leave.

Tired and spent but truly happy.

What beautiful days!

How we miss those carefree days.

Enjoying to the hilt!

Musings!!!

Sometimes just simple thoughts go a long way in making a day or ruining it.

How we start the day with what kind of mood and tone, sets the pace for the remaining day.

At times it plays a huge role in setting the pace for the week.

We do have our moods too, and it’s perfectly fine to give in to a not a good one too.

But morning positivism goes a long way.

In resting times falling back on simple things helps us immensely.

Have a beautiful week ahead😊

The art of hearing!

 The art of listening!

Even in counselling the first thing they do is let you speak your heart out .

That’s the first form of therapy . Unfortunately in the era of conversation becoming a dying art.

Speeches are automated. We are more used to texting.

Is it the reason that people feel bottled up?

Counsellors are on the rise. The need for man to be heard growing up.

Alas! When they feel unheard, not able to ventilate, it leads to a lot of psycho somatic problems.

Anxiety, mental health issues are drastically scaling greater heights!

Is it the pandemic?

Is it the loneliness?

Communication, venting out your thoughts is paramount.

Everyone does need a sound box . Someone who they can express to without being judged.

Gratitude journaling at this time is a tremendous help.

Making you a little aware of all is still not lost.

Speak to your friends often. It helps!

Stay in touch with near and dear ones.

The pandemic has forced people to be indoors, but don’t let that stop you from communicating.

Keep the faith!

Dinner extravaganza!

The day dawned bright . I had been relentlessly interrogated regarding Jay’s likes and dislikes about food. His preferences, his favourite dishes and so on and so forth. Resulting me in disturbing Jay again and again leaving him in giggles and me in mortification .

My aunts started from 5 in the evening “ I hope you are wearing something beautiful”!

The one one” Zara kuch bright colour pehno beta”!

Ohhh god! Not again!

Their match making  Skills in full swing.

Finally 8.30 the bell rang.

I was dressed in a bright red outfit, to please my dear aunts more than Jay.

Jay was immediately bulldozed by them into  interview round 2.

Mind you! The first one by the river.

Poor Jay! He was smiling, witty and answering as best as he could.

Then my aunt’s  sly glances, those happy grins coming my way sealed the deal.

I was tactfully made to sit next to Jay.

Now his lineage, his place of birth and his family background came next.

One aunt asked him point blank” Beta aap ko kaisi ladki chahye?

Which left me choking!

I so wished, I could disappear somewhere!

Thank God!

The dinner ordeal came to an end!

We fast forwarded to dessert!

I wanted to fast forward to next morning!

Finally it was time to bade goodbye!

My whole entourage was at the porch.

It reminded me of a scene straight from “ My big fat Greek Wedding”!

Jay promised to be in touch.

I wanted to apologise to him.

Once he left .

I was pulled into the interrogation round!

They had all approved. So far!

Wanted to hear the wedding bells ringing!

I was dying to hear my next day morning alarm ringing for a change!

Making me believe, it was a nightmare!

Definitions Redefined!

Times have changed. In today’s times every thing is being redefined.

It’s the era of masked identities!

Are emotions also being disguised! Who’s wearing which mask?

Is there any honesty and compassion left?

Are emotions also being masked?

Truth , Honesty, compassion and kindness, are they easily found?

Is seeing believing?

We are seeing a world being torn apart?

Then where does our faith lie in these tormenting times?

In the turmoil, where do you seek true emotions?

Is everything lost today?

Healing!

Confounded!!

 I’m reeling with shock!

When the world is in the grip of the deadliest pandemic possible, acts of terrorism still do not cease!

Alas! Behold!

People are dying.

Running Helter Skelter to save their loved ones!

Some are losing them. Some have already lost them.

We are caged in!

In our man made concrete jungle!

And children are being killed in a senseless way!

Is this the price to be paid?

To live in today’s world?

Where there are displays of humaneness?

There are displays of such acts too!

When are we going to learn?

When will this hatred be wiped from the world?

When?

When ? Will we give our future generations a beautiful negative free world to live in?

Free of animosity!

Devoid of Misery?

When?

Thoughts and prayers with the bereaved?

Those beautiful souls who were deliberately wiped out before they blossomed !

Heartbreaking!

City of My Dreams!

My winning entry for a poem Prompt!

But truly what I envisaged here could be a reality!

What a beautiful place to live!

Happy Mother’s Day!

The Best!

In a world where we are always in a competitive mode for everything, being true is tough.

Beauty has standards.

Art has standards.

Academics and so on and so forth.

Then does truth and honesty stand a chance?

But believe in your true self!

The way you were made because you were made by the best.

Velvet River

It was a beautiful morning. Tara woke up to excited chatter around her . She longed to sleep more but unfortunately the noise wouldn’t let her. She resigned to her fate. She woke a bit grumpy . Longing for her huge mug of cappuccino. The thought of it, instantly brightening her. It always managed to cheer her up! No matter whatever the day or mood. Her coffee ☕️ always cheered her up.

She got dressed and went down . Gearing up for the questions ahead.

Starting with her eldest aunt” Tara shaadi kab karogi”?

Ohh no grunted Tara . Here comes the shaadi nuclear attack!

Then it went full blown . She was tossed around like a ball, being asked the same question. Finally she escaped with her friend out.

She came home in the evening. All excited about going to the river and doing some water sports there.

For once Tara was excited too.

Next morning they set out early. Amidst singing and dancing in the bus. Thank God the shaadi nuclear attack was forgotten.

The day unfolded beautifully. Tara and 2 of her cousins went for river rafting. Half way through the rapids became intense and Tara was tossed . She landed near the sand, just missing the rock.

Lost now. She had no idea where she was.

Suddenly she heard some voices. She saw a life guard with a group of children explaining about the pros and cons.

He came towards Tara.

Something about him made Tara keep looking at him.

He cleared his throat and repeated the question again.

Tara suddenly blinked and explained the situation.

He offered to help Tara.

Along with the children they reached where everyone was waiting. He handed the children to their parents.

Then walked Tara to her anxiously waiting family.

They were so happy to see her.

Jay had to introduce himself. He was treated like a hero. Invited home for dinner. A gesture of appreciation.

Stay tuned for more.

kind gestures

Today times are very sad and heart rending. People need a lot of solace. Each household is either losing someone or someone is battling for dear life.

What can the rest of us do in such times?

Be there!

Check on people!

Speak to them positively!

Keep encouraging them.

Help them in whichever way you can.

Keep them encouraged and motivated.

Help them in whichever capacity you can.

People start feeling dejected, de motivated, learn to be their support .

Hope is what we are holding on to tight!

Kindness, compassion and Hope requisites to live in the now.

Stay blessed. Stay safe

Flowered Joy

How they endeavour to spread their colourful hues and brighten each’s life. They only know how to bloom and blossom whatever the situation around .

The joy of seeing their smiling , cheerful faces is so therapeutic.

Whatever might be the occasion or celebration nothing is complete without their lovely presence.

Cheering a loved one is complete by Just sending a beautiful bouquet.

Weddings , birthdays any celebration is only perfect when it’s in the presence of flowers.

Flowers do make your day.

With the chaos today, I wanted to step a little away from all the disturbing facts and wanted to cheer with the presence of these beauties.

Flowers do add colour and joy in every form!

Have a lovely day!

Spread your cheerful presence in everyone’s life!

Right now many need it!

Have a blessed day ahead!!

Something humorous.
